In one of the villages around the lake zone , there lived an elderly man known for his humor and warm smile. From childhood, he had been raised in the belief that God was three in one. He attended church every Sunday, knew many hymns by heart, and people affectionately called him the “Grandfather of the Gospel.”
Yet deep in his heart, one question never disappeared “If God is truly one, who is He?” One afternoon, two young men visited his home carrying Bibles. They politely asked if they could talk with him about the belief in one God. The old man smiled and invited them to sit. “Talk to me,” he said. “I may be old, but I am still learning.”
They opened their books and studied together. They showed him the words, “Hear, O Israel The Lord our God, the Lord is one,” and also shared the statement attributed to Jesus that the Father is the only true God. The discussion continued until evening, leaving the elderly man deep in thought.
That night, he could not sleep. He looked at pictures of his children on the wall and wondered about the simplicity of believing in one Creator. By morning, tears filled his eyes not tears of sadness, but of peace.
“Thank You, God,” he whispered. “I have followed what I was taught since childhood, but now I have found understanding. Guide me to follow You, the One God.” His search for truth finally brought peace to his heart.
