iERA GHANA: Islamic burial changed his heart

17 years Richard Akakpo turned away from idolatry after following the Muslims in his community on a burial service.

Richard is a devout idol worshipper, firmly rooted in his beliefs.

He is not considered to be a normal person by the people of his community although when you hear him speak, you will know he has a deep sense of understanding.

One day, a Muslim lady happened to pass away and when she was taken to the cemetery, Richard found himself among the Muslims who attended the burial service.

The imam started to preach to the congregation at the cemetery and then of a sudden, Richard started telling the man next to him that ‘may Allah have mercy on the lady and grant her Paradise’.

He further added that he will join Islam and leave his idol worship.

After a few days upon the return from the cemetery, Richard accepted Islam.
