How to build a strong dawah team in Modern times.

In Surah Anfal, after the believers had tasted victory for the first time, Allah says immediately that ‘Prepare in advance for them’, that’s the disbelievers who had just been defeated.

You would expect that Allah would have said get ready for them before the battles rather than after the battle.

Allah is letting you know they are going to return, and also the preparation you made for the victory of the battle of Badr is not enough for the next battle which needs more preparation.

Allah is letting us know with every challenge, the next one is bigger than the immediate one and so you must begin preparing for the next one.

There are some moments to celebrate the success we have but immediately after that you need to focus for the next one because the enemy is never done with you.

Allah referred the preparation to power in the verse, but the power he spoke about is not only limited to power or an increase in the army, He left it open.

He also discussed among power to be the ‘horses for battle’, horses in Arabia at the time was not cheap, you needed to buy the best of the best for the battle

Therefore in building power, you do it with more wealth.

To connect this to dawah, we can build each other up by supporting each other with any kind of help that aids in promoting the cause of propagating the mission.

The preparation we make for dawah can also come with support through knowledge building and by contributing through various channels which includes media.

Financial support is also a very key factor to consider.

Allah has stated in Surah Tauba where He said ‘ that the collection of alms is for the poor, the needy and those who collect them, and for bringing hearts to Islam and for freeing captives and for those in debt for the cause of Allah ( which in our case for the dawah mission) and for the traveler and obligation imposed by Allah . And Allah is Knowing the Wise.

From the above verse, we know that building power comes through preparation in different ways.

To be strong in the field of dawah, you need to have the ability to build trust in the people you hang around for the cause, believing in their capabilities and encouraging them to become the very best version of themselves.

Being a leader for the cause of Allah does not come easy, it requires one to be patient, compassionate and understanding. It needs one to become a pardonable person.
