Allah states in Surah Fussilat chapter 41:30 that ‘those who say Our Lord is Allah and then become steadfast in their claim, Angels will descend at the time of their death and say to them not to be scared (of living this world) and not be sad (of what they leave behind) in the form of children and properties.
Allah continues verse that ‘We give them glad tidings of Jannah that they will abide in.’
To take a critical look of the above verses, the scholars have described ‘Istiqaamah’ or steadfastness as being consistent in the obedience of Allah.
Obedience to Allah is the one ticket that leads one to Paradise. Allah said in the Qur’an in Surah Nisa chapter 4:69 that ‘And whoever obeys Allah and Messenger will be in the company of those blessed by Allah: the Prophets, the people of truth, the martyrs and the righteous- what an honorable company.’
The company in which you find yourself is connected to the deeds of your heart and the deeds of visible to everyone.
When you die, you’ll be resurrected on the deeds you die upon. It is important to note that, even a beautiful speech is a form of charity therefore, we should not belittle any action that helps uplift the spirit of people and keeps them firm in the religion.
A statement has been attributed to the Prophet ﷺ where Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet ﷺ told him that for a single person to be guided to the truth of Islam is better for him (Ali) than the world and whatever it contains.
From this message, we can derive that speech and how one construct the words that we utter can go a long way to make us the best of beings or the worst off.
Allah says in Surah Fussilat chapter 41:33 ‘And whose words are better than someone who calls to Allah, does good and says, “I am truly one of those who submit”?
Allah has immortalized the perfection of the sayer and doer of good deeds in his book, so we can choose of our deeds all by ourselves. The challenge has been thrown to us to choose what we want.
The dawah we do is the best of works in this fleeting world, when you call to Allah, you emulating the steps of the best of humans to have ever thrive in the world.
The Prophets of Allah carried the best of messages to humans, anyone who calls and takes on the works of the Prophets cannot be compared to those who do not. After all, there is no equality to the one who submits to the will of Allah and the one who does not.
The beauty of dawah comes when those who are being called accepts the message and turn their lives around.
For every action such a person does, the caller receives a share of the reward.
For this reason, consistency in dawah projects a beauty in this world that can never be matched by whoever does otherwise.
We should always take motivation in the fact that we are doing the works of the Prophets and the work of the Prophet ﷺ who is the best of all humans.
