Madalitso is a devout Christian who was raised in a family deeply rooted in the teachings of his faith.
He had never given a second thought to leaving his religion for any other one since nothing came close the faith he was raised in.
He was blessed to have come into contact with the religion of Islam when iERA Duat found themselves in hi neighborhood.
Despite the inevitable backlash he knew he would face, Madalitso embraced Islam wholeheartedly, much to the shock and dismay of his father and the villagers who had known him all his life.
As a New Muslim, Madalitso developed a desire to become a Daee, to spread the message of Islam and invite others to embrace the religion that had touched his heart so profoundly.
And after attending iERA’s 6 month Duat program, he decided to attend an interview with iERA but his decision was met with fierce opposition from his father, a pastor, who could not accept his son’s conversion in the first place.
In a desperate attempt to thwart his son’s ambitions, the pastor burned Madalitso’s ID, a crucial requirement for the iERA interview.
Undeterred by this betrayal, Madalitso refused to let his father’s actions deter him from pursuing his calling.
With courage and resolve, Madalitso appeared for the interview, despite lacking the necessary identification. His passion for Islam and conviction in his beliefs shone brightly as he articulated his journey and answered the panel’s questions with eloquence and sincerity.
Impressed by his unwavering commitment, the interviewers acknowledged his potential as a Da’ee and offered him a path forward, and encouraged him to apply for a replacement ID, to finalize the interview process.
