Viviana, previously Catholic, came to Islam in early 2022 while researching different religions.
“I had no intention of looking for a new religion, in fact I didn’t want to have a religion anymore, but when I looked into Islam, I was surprised to understand that everything that was said negative was actually the opposite”
While in an interview, she heard Ayatul Kursi being recited and from then, she got used to listening to it every day at work.
One day while she went about her daily activities, she felt the weight of being alone on this path.
She said that “I felt like I was swimming against the current, so from my heart I asked God for a sign to either continue or leave it”.
Two days after her plea, she was told about someone named Ibrahim, who was respectful, prayed, and always mentioned God. It was he who gave her a copy of the Quran distributed by iERA in Mexico.
Also on his recommendation, Viviana arrived at the dawah center in Guadalajara:
In her own words, she admitted that “I loved how they treated me, I felt at home. I went to several classes for new Muslims until one day, before a retreat for new Muslims, I decided to convert to Islam”.
Since then, she has taken iERA courses like “Step by Step”, “New Muslim Mentorship”, and “GORAP”; she has supported dawah tables and even children’s classes, which demonstrates that with mentoring, new brothers and sisters can be of great support in their community.
She added that “My life has taken a complete turn since I became a Muslim. I see things very differently, I accept and am grateful for everything that happens to me, whether it seems good or bad to me at the moment, because I understand that everything is really for my good. I feel more connected to Allah SWT, and I live more fully.”
May Allah strengthen Sister Viviana on the path of her new found faith.
