In a world often clouded by misconceptions and negative portrayals of Islam, one young man decided to look beyond the headlines. Simusuko, a 25-year-old university student, found himself questioning the narratives he encountered daily. “What’s the truth behind all this?” he wondered.
Determined to know more about religion and the reality, Simusuko delved into research. He browse over online articles, watched videos, and read books, seeking answers. Yet, the more he explored, the more confused he became.
It was during his search that he stumbled upon a group of iERA du’ats in Zambia conducting door-to-door da’wah. Their approach intrigued him, and he decided to attend one of their events to seek clarity.
At the event, Simusuko met Musa, one of the du’at who welcomed him. Musa patiently listened to his questions and addressed them with compassion and clarity. He introduced Simusuko to the GORAP method, a structured framework for explaining Islam’s core principles.
This logical and accessible approach struck a chord with Simusuko. For the first time, the principles of Islam began to make sense to him. Over the course of several meetings, Simusuko continued engaging in thoughtful discussions with Musa. They explored Islamic teachings, ethics, and values in depth. Each conversation brought him closer to a faith that now felt both intellectually satisfying and spiritually uplifting.
One evening, as he reflected on his journey, Simusuko realized the doubts and negativity he once carried had vanished. In their place was a newfound sense of peace and conviction. With Musa as his witness, he took his Shahadah
“There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.”
From that moment, Simusuko’s life transformed. He began attending prayer services, learning Quranic Arabic, and volunteering at local Muslim organizations. As iERA community stood by him, offering unwavering support as he adapted to his new life as a Muslim.
Today, Simusuko is a confident, practicing Muslim whose life radiates positivity. His friends and family often marvel at the transformation, noting the peace and purpose he now carries. When asked about his journey, Simusuko beams with gratitude:
“I sought truth, and Allah guided me. The GORAP method made Islam’s beauty and simplicity shine through. I’m thankful for Musa’s mentorship and the iERA family’s support. They showed me the light when I needed it most.”
Simusuko’s story is a powerful testament to the value of seeking knowledge, the importance of an open mind, and the impact of compassion in da’wah. It reminds us all of the potential for meaningful connections to transform lives and open hearts to the truth of Islam.
