In the past month, the iERA Uganda team arrived in the northern part of the country to continue with the Prophetic Mission of informing every household and community about Islam.
Upon reaching the town, they discovered that there was no mosque unifying the Muslims to perform the five daily prayers.
They had to travel great distances to perform Salah, often struggling to attend Jumu’ah prayers on Fridays. The difficulties they faced made it hard for them to observe all their prayers regularly.
The team set the wheels in motion., a mission to find space and put up a structure that would serve as a convening spot for learning and understanding Islam.
After the dedicated efforts of iERA Duats, one of the reverts generously offered land for the construction of a mosque and an imam’s house.
The few Muslims in the village came together, collecting reeds, grass, and trees to build their place of worship.
The newly erected grass-thatched mosque is now a central hub for the village’s Muslims.
On Fridays, during Jumu’ah khutbahs, the khatib delivers sermons while seated on a simple plastic chair, symbolizing the humble beginnings of this newfound place of worship.
The mosque stands as a beacon of faith and a testament to the villagers’ commitment to their newfound faith.
