After a well-deserved break spent with their families and friends, the duats reunited for their monthly retreat, traveling from various locations with radiant smiles and a sense of attentiveness that lit up the gathering.
The guest of honor was the esteemed former Mufti, Sheikh Habimana Swaleh. Delighted by the sight of the growing audience, he couldn’t hide his astonishment. The last time he attended this retreat, the number of duats was far smaller. Reflecting on this growth, he began by expressing heartfelt gratitude to IERA for bringing such transformative opportunities to Rwanda.
Sheikh Swaleh praised the incredible impact of the dawah initiatives in the villages, noting that the number of Muslims in Rwanda is rising not only in quantity but also in the depth of their understanding and commitment to faith. He commended the duats for their unwavering dedication to the mission of dawah, emphasizing the importance of striving for excellence in this noble cause.
He went on to share inspiring insights into how IERA’s activities have been instrumental in supporting Rwandan Muslim communities to achieve their goals. His words were a source of encouragement, reminding the du’ats that while their work is deeply valued, the ultimate reward lies with Allah (SWT). With warmth and sincerity, he urged them to continue their efforts with steadfastness, ensuring the supremacy of their mission.
The retreat concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and unity among the duats, their spirits lifted by Sheikh Swaleh’s words of guidance and encouragement. Mashallah, the dedication and growth of this community promise a bright future for dawah in Rwanda.
