Hamdan Daud never imagined that one day he would become a Muslim. In the beginning, Islam was a religion that made him uncomfortable. One thing troubled him the most: hearing that women do not attend burials in Islam — something he did not understand and did not like.
But everything changed the day the OS (Outreach Specialists) visited his village. They sat with him, explained Islam with clarity, patience, and wisdom. They removed his doubts, answered his questions, and showed him what Islam truly teaches — submission to the commands of Allah and living according to His guidance.
After reflecting deeply, Hamdan made a firm decision: he embraced Islam.
A Difficult Path at Home
Hamdan comes from a Christian family. They are five in total — four children and their parents. His father is a pastor, and his mother is a pastor’s wife. When Hamdan accepted Islam, he became the only Muslim in the entire family.

His parents were not happy. Being leaders in the church, they felt embarrassed and disappointed. Their reaction was so strong that they even stopped paying his school fees, making it difficult for him to continue his education from Form 3 onwards.
His relatives and friends also turned against him. Some stopped talking to him. Others said he had made the worst decision of his life and brought shame to his parents. But Hamdan refused to turn back. He held onto the truth he had discovered.
Islam Changed His Life Completely
Before Islam, Hamdan lived a life filled with music and alcohol. But after embracing the faith, he abandoned those habits. Allah opened a new path for him — one filled with discipline, peace, and purpose.
With time, he grew in knowledge. People in his village started respecting him. They began approaching him for advice. He learned that while some are born Muslims, others — like him — find Islam after searching for the truth.
And Allah guides whom He wills.
A Message to the Youth
Hamdan carries a powerful message for young people:
> “Ask yourselves: Who will I be on the day I die? We will all enter the grave alone. The question is — is the religion you follow the one Allah wants for you?”
He reminds the youth that only one religion will save a person on the Day of Judgement — Islam, the complete submission to the will of Allah.
Today, Hamdan stands strong, grateful, and confident. His journey was not easy, but he found truth, peace, and purpose in Islam — and he wants others to find the same.
