Khaled’s family in Quito truly came to understand Islam following the passing of Khaled’s father. While his father had been Muslim since birth, many family members had long held doubts and found the faith unfamiliar.
During the gathering after his passing, the iERA Ecuador team visited to offer comfort. It was on that day that most of the family listened with open hearts and embraced Islam by taking the shahada.
Many of the aunts had previously been religious leaders or active in Christian and Catholic communities. Today, they attend virtual Islamic classes every Monday and Thursday, deepening their knowledge and faith.

The story continues to grow: they have gradually invited other relatives, including those in London, who have also embraced Islam and joined the online classes, eager to learn and practice the teachings, in shaa Allah.
For this family, Islam has brought unity and peace, strengthening family bonds and offering comfort in times of grief. Their journey is a testament to how, even in difficult moments, Allah provides guidance, tranquility, and hope to the heart
