In the quiet village of Walasi, nestled gently between the rolling hills of Malawi, lived a woman named Berita Bwanali. The village was known for its calm nights, where the wind whispered through the trees and the stars seemed close enough to touch. For many years, Berita was a devoted member of the Four Square Church in Walasi, walking a path she believed was true and familiar.
Yet deep within her heart, Berita often felt a quiet emptiness—an unspoken longing for clarity, purpose, and peace. In the stillness of the night, when the world around her fell silent, she would reflect on life, faith, and the Creator. It was during these moments that her heart became most open to truth.
Berita’s journey toward Islam was not sudden, nor was it easy. Growing up, she had heard many stories about faith, shaped by tradition and community. But everything changed the day she encountered a message calling people to the worship of Allah alone. This message came through an iERA Outreach Specialist, Sheikh Abu Sufyan Nurdeen Ndazipere. As he spoke, he shared the words of Allah with clarity and compassion. Each verse, each explanation, felt as though it was speaking directly to her heart.

Something stirred within Berita—an inexplicable pull she could not ignore. The message of Tawheed resonated deeply with her soul. It answered questions she had carried silently for years, and for the first time, she felt a sense of inner peace and certainty.
As days passed, Berita reflected deeply on what she had learned. She prayed, thought, and wrestled with her emotions, knowing that accepting Islam would not be an easy step. It would mean change—within herself and in how others might see her. Yet her heart had already found its direction.
One evening, as the sun slowly dipped behind the hills of Walasi, painting the sky with shades of orange and gold, Berita gathered her family. Her hands trembled, and tears streamed down her face as she spoke.
“I want to be a Muslim,” she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper.
Her family looked on in surprise, unsure of what to say. The moment was heavy with emotion, but Berita’s heart was firm. Despite the uncertainty around her, she felt a calm strength within—a certainty that this was the path Allah had chosen for her.
Soon after, Berita was warmly received by the village Imam, Sheikh Abu Amirah. With kindness and compassion, he welcomed her into the fold of Islam.
“As-salamu alaykum, Berita,” he said gently, as she prepared to take her Shahada.
As the words left her lips, tears of joy flowed freely. The gentle evening breeze seemed to carry her words upward, and in that moment, she felt a weight lift from her heart. Peace settled within her soul like never before.
Now, in the quiet hours of the night, Berita stands in prayer. The village sleeps, but her heart is awake—overflowing with gratitude and hope.
“Alhamdulillah,” she whispers, “all praise is due to Allah for guiding me home.”
As she folds her prayer mat beneath a sky filled with twinkling stars, Berita knows that her journey has only just begun. In Walasi, she has found a new family, a new purpose, and a new path—one illuminated by faith, patience, and love that never fades.May Allah grant her steadfastness, knowledge, and peace, and may her story be a source of inspiration for many others.
