Her inner turmoil grew when a villager shared a puzzling experience, the man, seeking protection for his maize fields from monkeys, placed an image of Saint Tadeo in his field, hoping for divine intervention.
To his dismay, the monkeys not only destroyed his crops but even displaced the image.
