From Misconceptions to Faith: How Precious Found out about Islam.

Precious Hamaila, was a Christian, grew up with little understanding of Islam. To her, Muslims and Hindus were indistinguishable—a misconception shaped by her limited exposure. This perception went unchallenged until an unexpected turn of events reshaped her beliefs.

She met Rohan, a Hindu, and their whirlwind romance led to a pregnancy. Immersing herself in Rohan’s world, Precious encountered rituals and practices that left her bewildered. Confusing these for Islamic traditions, her misconceptions deepened.

This must be Islam,” she thought, attributing what she saw in Hinduism to the Muslim faith.

One day, as iERA du’ats shared the message of Islam in her community, Precious approached them, eager to validate her assumptions, “This is what I’ve seen in Hinduism,” she declared, recounting Rohan’s practices.

The du’ats listened patiently and then gently clarified her misunderstanding. They explained, “Islam’s essence lies in submission to One God, guided by the Quran, which emphasizes compassion, equality, and universal wisdom.” Their calm demeanor and insightful explanations intrigued Precious.

For the first time, she began to draw comparisons between Hinduism’s complexities and Islam’s simplicity and logic. The differences were stark, like night and day. The veil of ignorance lifted, and Precious found herself captivated by the peace and clarity of Islam.

Reflecting on her journey, Precious asked herself, “Why did I blindly accept misconceptions?” Inspired by the logical and harmonious teachings of Islam, she embraced the faith.

Today, Precious is a devoted learner of Islam and a passionate advocate for understanding. She encourages others to challenge stereotypes and seek knowledge. “Islam’s logic and peace resonate deeply,” she says. “The truth is there for those willing to find it.”

Precious’s story is a powerful reminder that understanding begins with an open heart and a willingness to listen.
