Khadijah’s journey began with courage. In her home in Nigeria, she accepted Islam despite fierce opposition from her family.
Their torment became relentless, each day heavier than the last, until she saw no choice but to flee, seeking safety and a chance to practice her faith in peace.
However, her escape led her into the wrong hands. Strangers, pretending to help, wolves in sheep clothes, took her far away to a remote village in Ghana. There, the nightmare deepened. She was subjected to dark rituals and was even brought before a witch doctor.
The people around her hoped to shake her resolve, to force her to abandon her newfound faith.
But Khadijah’s heart remained unshaken, her belief in Tawheed- the oneness of Allah, burned brighter than the trials she faced. “Nothing will make me leave Islam,” she whispered to herself through the tears and the fear, “not until my last breath.”
By the mercy of Allah, she found a moment of escape and ran, her heart pounding with hope and desperation.
She reached a mosque in a nearby village, where the local Imam listened to her story and offered her refuge. There, she found a small sanctuary, a place where her faith could breathe again.
Through the network of believers, word reached a friend of iERA Nigeria and their local partner, MPD. Khadijah obtained a phone number, the bridge back to the mentors who had once guided her.
The moment her call came through, the team sprang into action. Collaborating with the iERA Ghana team and the local Imam, they made arrangements to bring Khadijah back to Nigeria.
Plans are now underway to secure her protection, ensuring she returns home with the safety and dignity she deserves. Khadijah’s story is one of unyielding faith, a powerful reminder that even in the face of darkness, the light of belief can never be extinguished.
