iERA Uganda lights up dawah passion among local Imams

Beneath the relentless midday sun, a quiet revolution unfolded in a humble Ugandan community center.

Thirty imams, their faces lined with the wisdom of guiding countless souls, gathered for iERA Uganda’s transformative GORAP training. The air buzzed not with heat, but with the warmth of shared purpose: reigniting their sacred duty to spread the message of Islam.

Brother Yusuf, iERA Uganda’s Education Officer, stood before the group, his voice a blend of conviction and compassion. “Da’wah is not merely a duty,” he urged, “but a privilege—a chance to illuminate hearts with the mercy of Allah.” He painted vivid scenes of guiding the lost to peace, emphasizing empathy and practical strategies for engaging non-Muslims.

“Meet people where they are,” he advised, sharing techniques to address doubts with patience and nurture new Muslims through their spiritual journeys.

The imams leaned forward, absorbing every word. For many, the challenges of supporting converts—facing cultural shifts or isolation—had felt overwhelming.

Now, tools replaced doubts. “This training is a lifeline,” whispered one attendee, nodding as Brother Yusuf demonstrated how to foster inclusive communities.

District Head Brother Kasim echoed this sentiment, his voice thick with emotion. “Our communities are growing, brothers.

Let this knowledge fuel our mission to welcome seekers of truth.” Sheikh Abdulwahab, the district’s Da’wah leader, then rose, his presence commanding reverence.

“Who here feels transformed today?” he thundered. A chorus of “Yes!” erupted, followed by impassioned pleas for more sessions. “Return to us soon, inshaAllah!” cried an imam, as others applauded.

As the day closed, laughter mingled with reflection. One elder, clutching a plate of shared meals, called out, “Thank you even for this food—it nourished body and soul!” The room erupted in agreement, a testament to the day’s harmony of spiritual and physical sustenance.

This training marked more than a single day—it sparked a movement. Armed with renewed zeal and practical wisdom, these imams returned to their mosques as torchbearers, ready to kindle faith across Uganda. iERA Uganda’s commitment to equipping leaders ensures the prophetic mission thrives, one heart, one conversation, at a time.
