New Muslim mentorship organized by local Muslims

It is no secret that a good relationship between new and old Muslims is crucial in fostering a strong and united community. Yet, the lack of understanding and neglect from old Muslims towards new Muslims has caused rifts and misunderstandings in the past.

New Muslims often feel isolated and unsupported as they navigate their way through their newfound faith. Without the guidance and encouragement from older, more experienced Muslims, they may struggle to integrate fully into the community and develop a solid foundation in their beliefs.

Recognizing the importance of bridging this gap, duat have taken it upon themselves to emphasize the significance of building strong relationships between new and old Muslims. They stress the duty of older Muslims to take care of and mentor new Muslims in their communities, offering themguidance and support every step of the way.

“Old Muslims, it is your responsibility to welcome and nurture new Muslims in your areas, sharing your knowledge and experiences with them to help them grow in their faith,”
the duat advised

“By offering your support and encouragement, you can help new Muslims feel at home and strengthen our community as a whole.”

Conversely, new Muslims are encouraged to reach out to older Muslims and view them as their brothers and sisters in faith. By seeking guidance and clarification from their more experienced counterparts, they can deepen their understanding of Islam and develop a sense of belonging within the community.

In a world where division and discord seem to be prevalent, the importance of fostering strong relationships between new and old Muslims cannot be understated. By coming together and supporting one another, we can create a community that is inclusive, supportive, and a united Muslim community.
