The Inspiring Journey of Mayiwa Promice Magaisa

Mayiwa Promice Magaisa was born and raised in Kandaya Village, Phalombe, under T/A Nyezolera. She grew up surrounded by her community and family, learning the values and traditions of her home. From a young age, she was known for her kind heart and strong character, but like many, she was searching for a deeper purpose and meaning in life.

Her journey toward Islam began in 2025, when she was 59 years old. Mayiwa was part of the Magaisa family, and she was among the first in her family to embrace Islam. She came to learn about Islam through the message of Tawheed—the Oneness of Allah—and it touched her heart deeply. Even though she had spent many years in her previous faith as a member of the C.C.A.P Church, she felt a calling that could not be ignored. The teachings of Islam resonated with her, showing her a path to true peace, guidance, and closeness to Allah.

Mayiwa’s family played a unique role in her journey. They did not oppose her decision; instead, they witnessed her conviction and sincerity. She became a source of inspiration for them, helping other family members understand the message of Islam. Through her example, she encouraged her relatives to explore the faith and discover the guidance that Islam offers. Her dedication also included participating in Dawah activities, showing her commitment to spreading knowledge and helping others find the truth.

Despite her age and the challenges that come with change, Mayiwa embraced her new faith wholeheartedly. She learned to pray consistently, fast during Ramadan, and live according to Islamic principles. She also ensured that her children received a proper Islamic education, sending them to madrasahs so that the next generation could grow up with knowledge of their faith. Her actions demonstrate her commitment not only to her own spiritual journey but also to the future of her family and community.

Mayiwa’s story is a powerful reminder that it is never too late to change one’s life, to seek guidance, and to embrace the path of truth. Her courage, perseverance, and devotion to Allah show that faith is not limited by age or circumstance. Through her journey, she has become an example of steadfastness, inspiring others to reflect, seek knowledge, and submit sincerely to Allah.

May Allah keep her firm on the straight path and bless her family and community with guidance. Allahumma Ameen.
