Joyce, an elderly woman, from Waamibilo met with Duat from Tanzania as they were embarking on the Prophetic Mission of spreading the message of Islam.
They had an encounter and after a long conversation about Islam and the differences it had with Christianity, which was her faith, she was very astonished.
According to her, she had worshipped in the Moravian church, a Protestant denomination of Christendom for her entire life and never had she been introduced to this side of Islam.
She remarked, ‘I’ve worshipped all my life without truly understanding, and now I realise I’ve been living without true faith. I am so grateful to my grandchildren for showing me this path’.
After reflecting on the teachings of Islam, she decided to embrace the Islam. However, she was concerned about where to pray since there was no mosque nearby.
The Duat reassured her that in Islam, prayers can be performed anywhere as long as the proper conditions are met. Comforted by this, Joyce happily accepted Islam and requested Islamic books and regular visits.
Her final wish was to have a photo taken with the team as a moment of her new faith.
The team agreed and promised to stay in touch. Joyce’s story became a testament to love and faith, and the Duat prayed for her well-being, wishing her a blessed end.
