From Pig Farmer to Devout Muslim: Mariam’s Journey of Islam.

In a small village in Uganda, Mariam a pig farmer encountered a life-changing transformation when she received Islamic preachers. While visiting her hometown in Rwanda where she was born and grew up before she migrated to Uganda, she discovered that her children had been introduced to Islam by dedicated da’wah preachers. Intrigued, she awaited their return.

The preachers revisited, eager to share Islam’s message with her. She posed a challenge: “How can I abandon pork, my livelihood?” They offered alternatives. “Rear sheep or goats, and leave the my pigs behind ?.” Initially hesitant, she requested time to ponder.

The next day, conviction struck. When she welcomed the preachers back and, With their guidance, she took her shahada With all her children and began a new life in Islam. Daily visits nurtured her new faith, helping her grow stronger. iERA Uganda selfless duats guided her through the process, ensuring a smooth spiritual journey.

“Their dedication didn’t stop at me taking shahada. Daily visits nurtured my newfound faith, helping me grow stronger in Islam. They answered my questions, addressed my concerns, and provided unwavering support,” Mariam said.

Mariam says she is eternally grateful to the messengers of peace, who patiently led her to the truth. Leaving behind pig farming, Mariam has discovered a deeper connection with God and her community. Her story testifies to the power of compassion, perseverance, and Islam’s universal appeal.

After days, Mariam with guided by iERA Uganda daees started her road to understanding Islam by attending the new Muslim classes instituted by iERA Uganda under the new Muslim Support project and she is effectively learning her new religion from iERA’s dedicated team.

Mariam is now proud to have found her spiritual home and humbled by the experience. The love and support of her new Muslim family have been a blessing, and she looks forward to continuing the journey of growth and self-discovery in Islam.
