The story of how Jalia embraced Islam and turned her life around

Growing up in a Christian household with her mother after her parents’ separation, Jalia, formerly known as Maria, was raised with a negative perception of her Muslim father and Islam.

Despite this, as she matured, she began to notice the admirable qualities within the Muslim community: the strong sense of brotherhood, their kind hearts, cleanliness, and smartness. These observations planted the seeds of curiosity in her heart.

One day, Jalia decided to visit her father, whom she had not seen for a long time.

He welcomed her warmly, and during their conversation, he expressed his sorrow over her being raised as a Christian instead of a Muslim.

This sparked a sense of curiosity in Jalia, and she began to think more about Islam and follow it closely.

Her curiosity deepened when she encountered iERA Duat who were preaching Islam in her village.

Their explanations about the oneness and omnipotence of God resonated with her. She asked them about God’s ability to create the world without helpers, and they reassured her of God’s limitless power.

When they discussed the Prophets, explaining that they are Messengers of God and not His children, and showed her verses about Jesus being a Messenger, it resonated deeply with her.

Feeling inspired by their words, Jalia decided it was time to join her father’s religion.

She embraced Islam taking her shahaddah and adopted the name Jalia. She has since dedicated herself to learning about her new faith, attending new Muslim classes and becoming one of the pillars of iERA Uganda’s classes.

Jalia’s story is a testament to the power of open-mindedness, kindness, and the pursuit of truth, her journey to Islam has brought her peace and a deeper understanding of faith.

May Allah continue to bless Jalia and guide her on her path.
