Okwiro Tonny, now known as Rashid, courageously embraced Islam after iERA Uganda Duat introduced him to the truth of worshipping one God and believing in the Prophets.
Rashid’s journey to Islam began after the loss of his mother in 2021, an experience that left him contemplating the expensive and complex burial rituals he witnessed.
The visit of the iERA Duat to his village marked a turning point in his life.
The Duat approached Rashid with kindness, explaining the oneness of God, a concept that intrigued him.
In Christianity, Rashid had been taught to believe in the Trinity, but the simplicity and clarity of worshipping only one God, as explained by the Duat, resonated with him.
Their explanations about Islamic burial practices being simple and least expensive also impressed him, offering a stark contrast to what he had experienced.
Inspired by these teachings, Rashid decided to invite the iERA Duat to his home to share their knowledge with his family, including his wife.
The Duat explained the Oneness of God and the role of the Prophets, including Jesus, in Islam.
Rashid’s wife, initially astonished by these teachings, asked questions about the differences in worship between their former Christian practices and Islam.
The Duat patiently explained how God prefers to be worshipped quietly in Islam and shared insights from other holy books. Their explanation deeply moved Rashid’s wife, who eventually took the shahada with ease, choosing to embrace Islam. Today, she is no longer Harriet but prefers to be called Fatuma.
Rashid and Fatuma’s reversion to Islam has brought new meaning and peace to their lives.
Rashid’s story is a testament to the power of kind words and sincere outreach.
Their journey is inspiring, highlighting the profound impact of understanding and faith.
May Allah continue to bless Rashid and Fatuma on their path and guide them in their newfound faith.
