Village outreach in Uganda harmonizes old and new Muslims

In the heart of Uganda’s lush countryside, the iERA Uganda team embarked on their sleepover tour, bringing together faith, community, and hope.

Surrounded by rolling hills and vibrant greenery, the tranquil villages became centers of learning, discussion, and prayer.

Brother Muhammad, the iERA Uganda country manager, addressed a gathering of new Muslims and non-Muslims attending the New Muslim support classes.

His words carried wisdom and encouragement. “Islam is a journey of learning,” he said warmly. “Embrace it with an open heart and let your curiosity guide you.”

His message resonated deeply, as he explained that Islam is more than a religion—it’s a way of life fostering growth, understanding, and unity.

Brother Yusuf, the iERA Uganda education officer, appealed to the old Muslims to mentor and support their new Muslim brothers and sisters.

He urged them to create an environment where new Muslims could feel at home. “Help them and let the words of Allah touch their souls,” he encouraged.

Holding the Qur’an, he guided attendees through its verses, intertwining recitation with reflections. His calm demeanor and clarity made the teachings accessible and inspiring.

The old Muslims, some with gray in their hair, nodded in agreement, committing to their roles as guides and mentors. Their dedication to both relearning their faith and supporting the newcomers created an atmosphere of unity and purpose.

Throughout the day, the iERA team engaged in meaningful discussions with the villagers, bridging generations and fostering a sense of belonging.

The villagers welcomed the team with open arms, appreciative of their kindness and the knowledge shared.

As the day transitioned into night, the team convened with local coordinators during their sleepover to strategize on enhancing Da’wah efforts and supporting new reverts.

Ideas flowed freely, driven by a shared passion for spreading Islam and nurturing faith.

“We are not just spreading a message; we are building a community,” Brother Muhammad emphasized. “Together, we can reach every home and every heart.”

As the sun set over the village, casting a warm golden glow, the team reflected on the day’s achievements.

They had not only shared knowledge but also strengthened bonds of brotherhood and ignited the flames of faith.

With hearts full of hope and renewed determination, they prepared for their journey, carrying the light of Islam to every corner of Uganda.
