The Fiji Islands welcomed the iERA team into the heart of its beauty for a three days dawah retreat.
The event took place at the Mulomulo Masjid, where 80 Duat from 8 different countries gathered for the International Dawah Retreat.
It was a journey of knowledge, and unity and was aimed at challenging them, inspiring them, and preparing them for the duty ahead.”
The first day began as a meet and greet to welcome the Duat and to introduce them to the local community at Mulomulo Primary School, where a ceremony was organized to set the tone for the retreat.
The morning was filled with laughter and new connections, as participants took a tour of the school and saw the impact of their presence in the community.”
The Duat made it clear that the retreat wasn’t just about community, it was about equipping these Duat with the tools they needed.
Teams were put in place to encourage participation and to strengthen the network between the nations.
The New Zealand head of New Muslims and Outreach Specialist for iERA, Feroz Khan began the intensive event with the GORAP methodology and made it interactive by incorporating with a regular question and answer session as well as roll playing scenes.
On the second day of the retreat, the training delved deeper into the principles and methods of inviting others to Islam. Special focus was given to supporting reverts, ensuring that those who accept Islam are embraced by a supportive community that will help them grow in their new found faith.
The event was not all about just training but also being physically strong for the work ahead and therefore there was a friendly soccer and volleyball tournaments that allowed them to bond in a different way.
The spirit of brotherhood shone on the field, reminding everyone that unity is the foundation of our call.
The retreat was culminated with a graduation ceremony. Each participant walked away not just with a certificate, but with a renewed sense of purpose, a commitment to continue their Dawah journey with the knowledge and strength they had gained in Fiji.
The International Dawah Retreat was more than just an event, it was a movement.
The Duat that took part in the retreat will leave Fiji with a shared goal, which is calling to the Oneness of Allah.
United by Islam, they return to their countries ready to spread the message of Islam, support reverts, and continue to build the Ummah.”
