Our Outreach Specialist in Honduras, along with a group of volunteers, visited a small village nestled in nature and part of the city of “Valle de Ángeles,”. This is a completely wooded area with nearly a thousand people and a rural road.
A few days earlier, José, a new Muslim, had started spreading the message of Islam in a basic way, and in a small mountain, he had encountered someone who wished to convert to Islam.
That person was a 74-year-old journalist, who is also a lawyer and emeritus professor at the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH), as well as a columnist for a well-known national newspaper.
He said that he had basic knowledge about Islam, but when José explained a little more to him, he felt connected to the Islamic belief, especially Tawhid, because throughout his life, he had always believed that God is one and that Jesus (peace be upon him) is a prophet.
The iERA team explained to him what Islam is about, its pillars, and the pillars of faith. Then he expressed how much repentance he felt for the worldly acts he had committed throughout his life and that he finally felt at peace with God; he wanted to give his testimony of faith and become a Muslim.
“I feel ready to continue strengthening my faith,” affirmed the journalist. And this is just the beginning of what will be a path full of blessings for him, in shaa Allah.
“For this reason, brothers, we should never underestimate the work of Dawah,” Ayman, the Outreach Specialist in Honduras, points out. “Every step, every visit, every small opportunity, is a chance to take the message of Islam further and further, to every corner of the world.”
