More often that not, friends end up becoming foes due to differences in ideology and beliefs, these differences are inherent in everyone.
However, the one who is the best is he who does not allow his ideology to tear society apart, rather he uses it to unify society.
The story of Josefiino seems simple but has a deeper reflection from the book of Allah.
Josefino found himself sitting at a dawah table listening attentively to what a Speaker was saying.
The Speaker is a Caller to the message of Islam and was on that day talking about the worship of one Supreme Creator without associating any partners with Him or putting any intermediary between one and such a Creator
The message resonated with the ideology that sat very well with Josefino and this made him very involved with what the Speaker was talking about.
What really drove Josefino to the message of Islam that the Speaker was speaking on was the next topic, which is about being obedient and dutiful to one’s parent.
Josefino had grown in a world where his parents are strangers to him and he had been carrying this burden on his shoulders for as long as he can remember.
As he listened to the 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 and the 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗺, something in him shifted. 𝗛𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗵.
Minutes later, Josefino brought two friends, Mario and Abraham, who already believed in one God but hadn’t found a spiritual home. After hearing the message, they embraced Islam also.
This story is a reminder that dawah is all about conveying the message with intelligence and compassion believing firmly that guidance only lie in the hands of Allah.
Josefino became a candle that burnt to brighten the path of his friends.
This story also serves to remind us about the benefit of having good companions.
A good companion is like perfume, when you come into contact with perfume, you smell nice, and a bad companion is like a burning fire, its smoke just fills you up with a bad odour.
May Allah guide Josefino and his friends on the straight path.
