January brought several key enhancements to the IERA Reporting System, focusing on improving existing services, integrating new features and significant strides made in mobile app development. Let’s take a closer look:
Unlocking the Past: Coordinator Summaries for Previous Months Now Available
Country Admins now have access to a of historical data with the new feature allowing them to retrieve coordinator reports from previous months. Previously limited to current and prior month data, this update allows for more comprehensive trend analysis and performance evaluation.
A new search function empowers Country Admins to select a date from any past month and generate a detailed report for a specific coordinator. The report includes a mini-report and summary, showcasing the coordinator’s performance metrics for both the selected day and its corresponding month.
How It Works
- A new button has been added to enable searching for past coordinator reports.
- Country admins can now select a date from a previous month and generate a detailed report for a specific coordinator.
- The system will provide a mini report and summary, displaying the coordinator’s performance metrics for both the selected day and its corresponding month.
This enhancement provides valuable insights into long-term performance and facilitates data-driven decision-making.

Clear Visual Cues: Cancelled Classes and Dawah Sessions Now Highlighted
Distinguishing between completed and cancelled classes and door-to-door dawah sessions is now easier. A new visual marker highlights all cancelled reports, making them instantly recognizable.
This enhancement eliminates the need for manual filtering or searching, saving administrators valuable time and improving the clarity of reporting. Cancelled sessions now stand out clearly, allowing for quick identification and review.
How It Works
- Cancelled sessions will now appear highlighted in the system, making them stand out from regular reports.
- Admins will instantly recognize cancelled activities, eliminating the need to manually filter or search for them.
- This enhancement ensures greater clarity in reporting and helps administrators save time when reviewing activities.

Mobile App Development (Version 2): Momentum Builds
Development of Version 2 of the mobile app is officially underway, and we’re excited to share a significant milestone: the successful implementation of an updated synchronization mechanism.
The app will now automatically synchronize data in the background, as long as the device is connected to the internet. This eliminates the need for users to manually open the app for data updates, ensuring real-time information access. While this feature is complete, it will be rolled out with the full Version 2 release.
Client-side configurations and updates are nearing completion, with remaining tasks focused on finalizing the API and endpoints in the online reporting system. This update paves the way for a more seamless and efficient user experience.
App Training in Uganda and Rwanda: A Collaborative Success
Ensuring a smooth transition to the mobile app is a priority. We recently conducted training sessions for teams in Uganda and Rwanda, with excellent results.
Initial training sessions were held for office teams and coordinators. The Ugandan team successfully brought in their coordinators, as many were proficient in English. In contrast, the Rwandan team initially limited the training to the office staff, citing language barriers, as their coordinators did not understand English.
After the initial sessions, the office teams in both countries took the lead in conducting additional trainings for their respective coordinators. These follow-up sessions proved to be highly effective, as nearly all coordinators were able to successfully use the app.
Subsequent training sessions with Outreach Specialists (OSs) in both countries were equally successful. The collaborative approach, with office teams assisting with translations where needed, resulted in strong understanding and positive feedback from the OS teams.
Currently, training is taking place on a testing subdomain, with a planned transition to the live reporting application coinciding with the next Field Days, beginning on February 6th. These training efforts ensure that teams in Uganda and Rwanda are fully prepared to utilize the app effectively.
