Kalim Miyela, a young man who embraced Islam at the hands of the iERA Malawi team explains what triggered him to declaring his shahadah.
According to him, the Malawi team had vividly described in their speech that all Prophets sent by God did pray by bowing down and prostrating.
This visual demonstration struck a chord within him, prompting him to question why their own worship practices did not reflect this reverence and humility.
“I wondered why we don’t worship God like that,” Maliyela shared.
He added that, “The Muslim teachers even quoted verses from our own bible to support the Islamic way of prayer.”
Feeling compelled to act upon this newfound knowledge, Maliyela returned home and opened the bible to show his parents the verses that had been presented to him.
He then proceeded to demonstrate how the Prophets in the bible prayed in a manner similar to that of Muslims.
He said, “To my relief, my parents understood my point,”.
“They recognized the similarities between our own scriptures and the Islamic way of prayer. It was then that I made the decision to embrace Islam.”
With the support of his family, Maliyela officially accepted Islam and began his journey as a Muslim.
Reflecting on his transformation, Maliyela expressed gratitude for the iERA’s presence in his village and the impact they had on his spiritual awakening.
“I am grateful to Allah for the guidance I received through iERA,” Maliyela said.
“Their teachings opened my eyes to a new way of worship and spirituality. I am now proud to call myself a Muslim and live according to the teachings of Islam.” he added.
