Chief Sakamula was a respected village leader and a devoted Catholic. When a team from IERA came to teach about Islam, she allowed them to speak—despite the villagers’ disapproval and negative rumors.
Curious and calm, she decided to attend their classes—not to convert, but to witness what was being said. As she listened, her heart began to change. The message of Islam touched her deeply.
In time, she made a bold decision: she embraced Islam.

The village was shocked. Many criticized her. But Chief Sakamula stood firm in her faith and declared:
> “What I’ve learned in Islam has touched my heart. I won’t return to the church. Even if people hate me, I will remain in Islam—until others join me too.”
Her strength and sincerity became a source of inspiration. She showed that true leadership means following the truth, even when it’s difficult.
