Khadija Mahamud* is a new Muslim who comes from Ching’omba. When she moved to her current village, she was introduced to Islamic classes for the first time. She decided to start attending these lessons, and from that moment, her life began to change in a very positive way.
At first, Khadija would watch other women in the village wearing long dresses that covered their arms and heads. She felt a strong desire to dress like them and often wondered, “When will I be able to dress like this?” This feeling inspired her to take her Islamic learning seriously and commit herself fully to her faith.
As she reflected on her life, Khadija realized that her old lifestyle no longer matched her new path. She shared information about the Islamic classes with her housemates and encouraged them to join her. They agreed, and together they began attending the sessions — a step she regards as a great blessing from Allah.

During one of the lessons, they met Sheikh Akachala, who began teaching them regularly. From that day onward, Khadija has been learning extensively about Islam. Step by step, she has gained the knowledge to perform wudhu, pray salah, and understand what it truly means to live as a practicing Muslim.
Many people had told her that Islam is difficult, but Khadija has discovered the truth: Islam is not hard for those who prepare their hearts and maintain a sincere relationship with Allah.
Her main challenge now is that she does not yet have proper Islamic clothing to cover herself the way she wishes. Despite this, she remains fully committed to her studies, attends lessons consistently, and continues to put her trust in Allah.
Khadija’s journey is a powerful reminder that accepting Islam is only the first step. True growth happens when new Muslims are guided, supported, and given the tools they need to strengthen their faith.
