Deeply rooted in their Seventh-day Adventist faith, Kasozi and his wife, Namulindwa, lived a life grounded in strong religious convictions. To them, faith wasn’t just a weekend routine—it was their identity.
When volunteer daees from iERA first approached the couple in their community, Kasozi listened respectfully but held a firm boundary. “We are Seventh-day Adventists,” he explained kindly. “We cannot change our religion.”
Rather than pressuring them or sparking a theological debate, the daees responded with warmth and humility. They offered a simple, no-pressure proposition: “You don’t have to change anything. Just come sit in on our community classes. Listen, ask questions, and learn about personal growth and the reality of Islam.”
Intrigued by the respectful approach, Kasozi and Namulindwa agreed to attend.

The next morning, the couple walked into the New Muslim class together. Over the course of a week, they sat quietly in the back, absorbing the lessons. They heard teachings on the absolute Oneness of God (Tawhid), the high status of God’s prophets, and the emphasis Islam places on practical personal development.
Day by day, the heavy layer of misconceptions they had carried about Islam began to dissolve. The gentle, rational clarity of the lessons spoke directly to their hearts, replacing doubt with a profound sense of peace. They realized that the truth they were seeking had been right in front of them all along.
At the end of the week, Kasozi and Namulindwa looked at each other with quiet realization—their shared journey had led them to the exact same decision.
Standing hand-in-hand before the entire class, they raised their hands and proclaimed the Shahadah, declaring their faith in one God. Tears of joy and warm embraces filled the room as the community welcomed them home.
Today, the couple walks a path of light and purpose together. Kasozi now carries the name Fahad, and Namulindwa shines as Shadia. Guided by the patient mentors who first invited them to simply “come and listen,” Fahad and Shadia continue to study side-by-side, steadily building a vibrant new life in their newfound faith.
