From Fear to Faith: The Transformation of Hakim

For years, Henry lived a quiet life within his Protestant upbringing, carrying a secret curiosity in his heart. While he followed the traditions of his family, his eyes were always drawn to the Muslim community around him. He watched their interactions with a sense of wonder, noting the deep bonds of brotherhood and the meticulous cleanliness that defined their daily lives.

However, a single barrier stood between Henry and the faith he admired: the fear of circumcision. This childhood apprehension kept him at a distance, a silent observer of a world he longed to join.

Everything changed when the iERA dawah team arrived in his village. While others might have been hesitant, Henry felt a pull of destiny. As soon as he realized their mission was to share the truth of Islam, he didn’t just watch from afar—he drew closer.

He began attending their classes, and absorbing their teachings. The more they explained the oneness of God and the message of Islam, the more Henry’s internal walls began to crumble. The “truth” he had been searching for since childhood was finally being articulated.

The transition wasn’t without its internal struggle. “At first I feared,” Hakim admits, reflecting on his long-standing anxieties. But the clarity of the message eventually outweighed his hesitation. With a resolute heart, Henry stepped forward, shed his old fears, and took his Shahadah, choosing the name Hakim.

Today, the man once known for “not praying much” has been replaced by a “staunch and strong” believer. Hakim’s transformation has been profound:

He attends New Muslim classes every single day without fail. which helped him master the performance of Salah and now observes all five daily prayers.
