From Rejection to Redemption: Vincent’s Journey to Islam

Vincent was born into a Catholic family, raised with traditions that shaped his early life. Yet, deep within, he admired the good character and brotherhood he saw among Muslims. When iERA du‘at reached his village, their words about the beauty and truthfulness of Islam resonated with him.

But his newfound faith was met with fierce resistance. His father chased him from home, declaring he had no Muslim son, while his mother pleaded with him to denounce Islam and seek forgiveness. Pressured by family, Vincent painfully abandoned his choice and returned to Catholicism.

Still, the truth lingered in his heart. When iERA du‘at reminded him that on the Day of Judgment, every soul stands alone before God—not shielded by parents or family—Vincent’s spirit was reignited. He realized that pleasing creation at the expense of the Creator was a path of loss.

With conviction, Vincent re-embraced Islam, this time with unwavering resolve. He took the name Abas, and in a remarkable turn, he presented his entire family to embrace the deen alongside him.

Today, Abas and his family stand as living proof that faith, once awakened, cannot be silenced by fear—it blossoms into strength, unity, and truth.
