Zomba is home to a young man named Steve Mitunda, whose life changed in 2021 after a dawah team from iERA visited his village. The team came to teach people about Islam and invited the community to attend dawah classes that were being conducted in the village. Steve became interested in the lessons and started attending the classes regularly to learn more about Islam and its teachings.
Steve was raised in a Christian family and had followed Christianity from a young age. However, while attending the iERA dawah classes, he began to understand more about the purpose of life and the message of Islam. He listened carefully to the teachings, asked questions, and spent time thinking deeply about what he was learning.

Through the classes, Steve learned that the purpose of life is to worship Allah alone. The message of monotheism (believing in one God without partners) touched his heart and gave him peace and understanding. After learning and reflecting for some time, he made a personal decision to accept Islam in 2021 because he believed it was the truth.
Although coming from a Christian background made his journey challenging at times, Steve remained firm in his decision. His story shows how learning, understanding, and seeking the truth can change a person’s life. Today, he continues to grow in his faith and remains grateful for the dawah classes that helped guide him to Islam.
