More often than not, the people surrounding us really do inform our decisions in life and the choices we make as thinking humans.
Most people that stand out and remain distinct from others are the ones that have been able to gather enough strength and courage to break free from the shackles that hold them down.
They are the ones that are truly independent in their thinking and due to that strength, they become shinning stars in our societies.
In Malawi, such brilliant stars are scattered around and such minds need cultivation every now and then.
Chifundo Namathiya, is one of such people that have reached that point where they can see through the fine line between the truth an falsehood.
She recently embraced Islam and according to her, her friends were truly marveled at her transformation when they saw her for the first time while she was on her way to offer the Friday congregational prayers in the masjid.
Despite their attempts to dissuade her, she remained steadfast in her decision.
She credited iERA’s dawah program for introducing her to Islam and expressed that the more she practiced the faith, the more she grew to love it.
In explaining her reversion, Chifundo emphasized that Islam resonated with her because it taught her to love others and exhibit good manners.
She highlighted how the religion had transformed her perspective, replacing feelings of hatred with compassion and empathy towards others.
