Chifundo Magwira, a 25-year-old from Phalombe, embraced Islam one year ago after an iERA dawah team visited his village. At first, he heard that visitors were gathering people together, but he did not know the purpose of the meetings. One day, the team visited his home during their door-to-door outreach. Chifundo welcomed them and asked what the gathering was about. The outreach specialist explained that they were teaching people about Islam and invited him to attend the dawah classes. Chifundo accepted the invitation and promised to attend.
When the classes began, Chifundo was one of the most active participants. He asked many questions whenever he wanted to understand something, and the outreach specialist patiently answered each one. Chifundo was satisfied with the explanations and appreciated the opportunity to learn about Islam in a clear and respectful way.
At the end of one of the lessons, the outreach specialist asked if anyone wished to embrace Islam. Without hesitation, Chifundo stood up and said that he wanted to become a Muslim that day. He then took his Shahadah and officially embraced Islam.
When Chifundo returned home, he told his wife that he had accepted Islam. At first, she was not happy with his decision. However, Chifundo patiently explained to her what he had learned during the dawah classes and shared the teachings of Islam with her. After listening and understanding the message, she also decided to embrace Islam. By the mercy of Allah, what began with one invitation to a dawah class led to the guidance of both husband and wife.
