Sister Joyce Livafon from Neno was formerly married to a pastor from the Recovery Church of Christ. In 2024, her life took a new direction when she attended iERA dawah classes and embraced Islam. Her journey to Islam, however, was followed by a difficult period within her family, especially after she informed her husband and relatives that she had become a Muslim.
As her family heard about her decision, the situation became increasingly difficult and eventually led to the end of her marriage. Some of her husband’s family members also pressured her to leave Islam. They told her that if she died, they would not attend her burial and that she would no longer benefit from them because she had chosen to become Muslim.

Despite the pressure and hurtful words, Joyce remained firm in her decision. She told them, “I will still be a Muslim. It is my choice to be a Muslim.” She understood that becoming Muslim was a personal decision and refused to abandon her faith because of the opposition she faced from her family.
Today, Joyce continues to practice Islam despite the challenges she has experienced. Although some of her family members still oppose her decision and are unhappy that she became Muslim, she remains committed to her faith.
