During a door-to-door dawah visit, the Destination Dawah team met Brother Mavuto. They explained that they had come to his area to share the message of Islam and teach people who did not know much about Islam. They asked if he would allow them to speak with him, and Mavuto welcomed the conversation. He explained that the village was not his home and that he had only come to visit someone, but he was happy to listen.
The team asked Mavuto what he believed about Jesus. He said that he believed Jesus was God and also the Son of God. This opened an important discussion, and the team asked him how Jesus could be God and the Son of God at the same time. Mavuto became interested and wanted to understand the Islamic view of Jesus.

The dawah team explained that Muslims believe Jesus was a prophet of Allah, not God, and that Jesus himself worshipped and prayed to God. They explained that Allah does not sleep, while Jesus slept, ate, and lived as a human being. They also explained that Jesus was sent by Allah to convey His message rather than to claim that he was God. As Mavuto listened, the explanation began to make sense to him.
Mavuto then said, “You are right. God cannot be a son and also sleep.” He also admitted that he had previously thought Muslims hated Jesus, but now he understood that Muslims love and respect Jesus as a prophet of Allah. With this new understanding, Mavuto said, “I am ready to become a Muslim.” He then took his Shahadah and embraced Islam.
