During a door-to-door dawah activity, an outreach specialist met Brother Kenneth, a 20-year-old young man who had grown up believing that Jesus was God. During their conversation, Kenneth explained that he believed in Jesus’ divinity and felt that believing Jesus was God was essential to his faith.
The outreach specialist listened patiently and began asking him questions to help him reflect on his beliefs. He asked Kenneth, “Do you know that Jesus was born to his mother, Mary?” Kenneth answered yes. The outreach specialist then asked him, “If God is the Creator of everything, can He be born like human beings?” He explained that Allah is One, was not born, and has no partner. He further explained that Jesus (peace be upon him) was a prophet and messenger of Allah, sent to guide people and call them to worship Allah alone. He also explained that Jesus himself prayed to God.

As Kenneth reflected on the explanation, he began to reconsider what he had always believed. He realized that the questions raised by the outreach specialist made sense to him, especially the question of how God could be born. He was also surprised to hear that Muslims believe in Jesus and respect him as one of Allah’s great prophets and messengers. The outreach specialist explained that believing in Jesus is an important part of the Islamic faith, alongside believing in all the other prophets sent by Allah.
Deeply touched by what he had learned, Kenneth became convinced that Islam was the right path for him. Without hesitation, he took his Shahadah and embraced Islam.
