It was a day of immense joy, spiritual triumph, and celebration as iERA graduated its latest cohort of Duat centre trainees. The colorful graduation ceremony marked the climax of an intensive four-month Duat training program specially designed to equip new Muslims with the knowledge and confidence to empower and transform their respective communities through Dawah.
The rigorous training structure saw the enthusiastic trainees spend three solid months immersed in theological studies at the Duat Center, followed by a one-month hands-on field internship to gain critical practical experience.
During the graduation ceremony, the trainees captivated the audience, putting on a brilliant display of the skills and knowledge they absorbed during their time at the center. Attendees were visibly impressed as the newly trained Duat effortlessly delivered the Khutbah (sermon), beautifully recited verses from the Holy Quran, and precisely demonstrated the step-by-step process of Ablution (Wudu).
Speaking at the event, the District Kadhi highly praised the graduates for their resilience, steadfastness, and patience, noting that these virtues were key to bringing them to their graduation day. He extended his heartfelt gratitude to iERA for pioneering and managing the Duat Center—a task he acknowledged is highly demanding. The Kadhi went on to urge the fresh graduates never to stop seeking knowledge as they step out to spread the message of Islam.
Echoing the Kadhi’s sentiments, the District Secretary for Dawah, Sheikh Sulaiman, pledged ongoing support for the trainees whenever they need guidance in the field. He revealed a major milestone achieved through the program:
“This timely initiative has successfully provided the district with qualified Imams to lead various mosques, some of which had previously remained redundant due to a lack of leadership.”
Brother Ayoub, the iERA District Coordinator, thanked the local Muslim leadership for their unwavering support throughout the trainees’ stay at the center. He passionately challenged the graduates to maximize the knowledge they received to foster the growth of Islam in their neighborhoods.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the graduates, elder Mzee Okino thanked iERA for deeply caring about the welfare and spiritual growth of new Muslims. He noted that the center had completely reshaped their understanding of the faith, vowing that the cohort would continue to seek knowledge and work tirelessly to spiritually transform their communities.
