The intense heat of the sun makes worship difficult

The iERA Tanzania team entered a village where approximately 95% of the residents were non-Muslims. With determination and sincerity, the team began reaching out to people through house-to-house and street-to-street dawah. By the grace and mercy of Allah, their efforts began to bear fruit, and some residents were guided to Islam. Their acceptance of Islam marked the beginning of a new chapter in their lives, filled with hope, faith, and a strong desire to learn more about their new religion.

After embracing Islam, the new Muslims faced a challenge they needed a place where they could gather and pray. When they asked, “Where will we pray?” one of the local Muslims generously offered a small area beside his home for them to use as a prayer space. Since then, the community has gathered there every Friday for Jumu’ah prayer, while religious lessons, Qur’an learning, and Islamic teachings continue throughout the rest of the week.

Despite having very limited facilities, the new Muslims remain joyful and enthusiastic about learning and practicing Islam. Their prayer area is far from ideal. The intense heat of the sun makes worship difficult, while strong winds sometimes destroy or blow away the simple temporary shelters provided for protection. At times, they have no choice but to pray directly under the scorching sun.

Yet their difficult circumstances have not weakened their faith. Instead, they continue to stand together, shoulder to shoulder, with patience and determination. Their commitment demonstrates the strength of sincere faith and their willingness to endure hardship for the sake of Allah.

Their story is a powerful reminder that Islam continues to grow through sincere dawah, compassion, and perseverance. With a proper prayer facility, this growing community would have a safe and dignified place to worship, learn, and nurture future generations of Muslims.
