Three young men stood before a respected religious teacher, their hearts filled with curiosity and anticipation. They had heard much about Islam from friends and neighbors, but they longed for a deeper understanding before making such an important decision. This was not a step they wished to take lightly. They wanted clarity, certainty, and peace in their hearts.
The teacher welcomed them warmly, his voice calm and reassuring. He explained that Islam is never forced upon anyone; rather, it is embraced through knowledge and conviction. When one of them asked what it truly meant to be a Muslim, the teacher described it as sincerely submitting to Allah, worshipping Him alone, and following the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). It was, he said, a path of truth, peace, and upright character.
Another young man asked what their first step should be if they chose Islam. The teacher told them about the Shahada, the declaration of faith and explained that it must be spoken with firm belief in the heart. From there, they would learn prayer, read the Qur’an, and strive to grow in good conduct each day.
With humility, the third youth asked whether their past mistakes could be forgiven. Smiling gently, the teacher assured them that Allah is Most Merciful and forgives all previous sins when one sincerely accepts Islam.
Hope filled their eyes. By the end of the discussion, they made a firm decision: they would not return home that day unless they all embraced Islam together.
