Grace GoluGolu, a 21-year-old woman from Selihiwa Village in Phalombe District, embraced Islam after meeting a Da’wah team that was conducting door-to-door outreach in her community. The team visited different homes, sharing the message of Islam and inviting people to learn more about the faith. When they visited Grace’s home, she was not very interested at first, just like many others they met that day. After the discussion, she said she still had many questions and needed more time to think about what she had heard.
As the Da’wah team was returning home after their door-to-door activities, they met Grace again on the road as she was also heading back to her village. This time, she began asking important questions about the difference between worship and prayer. She also wanted to understand why some people pray through Jesus instead of praying directly to God. The team carefully explained the Islamic belief that Allah alone deserves worship and that people should turn directly to Him for help and guidance. They also shared the meaning of Surah Al-Fatihah, verse 5: “You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help.”

The explanation touched Grace deeply and helped her understand the concept of worship in Islam. She said she was ready to worship Allah in the correct way and willingly accepted Islam. Since it was Friday (Jumu’ah day), the team invited her to join the Muslim community for Jumu’ah prayer. She gladly accepted the invitation. Alhamdulillah, on that same day, Grace attended the Jumu’ah prayer and publicly declared her Shahadah in front of fellow Muslim brothers and sisters, who warmly welcomed her into Islam.
After accepting Islam, Grace explained her decision to her parents. Surprisingly, they did not oppose her choice. Instead, they supported and encouraged her. They told her that they had previously lived among Muslims and had always seen good manners and kindness from them, so they did not view Islam negatively. Grace says her life has changed greatly since becoming a Muslim. Learning the importance of worshipping Allah alone has brought peace, understanding, and purpose to her life.
