The golden hue of the setting sun painted the village as iERA da’ees knocked on the door of an elderly couple. They were met by Stephen (80) and Christine (70), who sat with their eight-year-old granddaughter. The initial air was thick with caution; for decades, they had viewed Islam through a lens of fear and misinformation.
“Why have you come?” Christine asked, her voice guarded.
With humility, the da’ees spoke of Tawheed—the pure Oneness of God. They addressed the family’s deepest hurdle: the nature of Jesus. When the da’ees explained that Islam does not reject Jesus but elevates him as one of the mightiest Messengers of God, the logic struck a chord. The distinction between the Creator and the created became clear, dissolving years of confusion.

The tension melted into a profound realization. Despite their advanced age, the truth felt like a homecoming. In a beautiful moment of clarity, the couple stood before their granddaughter and recited the Shahada.
Stephen chose the name Muhammad, and Christine became Mastula. In a final, symbolic act of sincerity, they removed their traditional religious jewelry and handed it to the da’ees—not as a loss, but as a peaceful exchange for a new life rooted in truth.
