After an entire family accepted Islam at the hands of the iERA Uganda team, the father of Niyonzima Yahya decided he needed a knowledgeable person in his family.
He went ahead to encourage his son, Niyonzima Yahya to dedicate his time and effort to study as much as he can from the team and the program put in place to train New Muslims to become Imams in their villages.
Over three months, Yahya immersed himself in learning, followed by a month in the field to practice what he had learned.
This month, Yahya graduated with distinction in his studies alongside other students in the program.
While speaking at the graduation, Brother Yusuf, iERA Uganda’s education office indicated that, Yahya proved his abilities and mastered many Quranic verses, Hadiths, and the roles of an imam.
He excelled in his studies, impressing his teachers with his dedication and understanding.
Brother Yusuf proudly stated that Yahya’s success is a testament to iERA Uganda’s efforts, as his journey began with the Duats’ outreach efforts.
The transformation of Yahya’s family is particularly remarkable. Once a pig-rearing family, they are now devoted believers, with Yahya on the path to becoming a Muslim preacher.
Also speaking at the program was Sheikh Abdallah Kalanzi, the secretary for Dawah in Luweero, who thanked Yahya for his dedication to studying Islam and encouraged him to utilize his knowledge to benefit his community.
Brother Abdur Rahman, iERA Uganda’s operations officer, expressed gratitude to all the graduates for their discipline and commitment.
He specifically thanked Yahya for his devotion, urging him to return to his community and preach the teachings of Islam.
Yahya’s journey from a new convert to a dedicated Muslim preacher is a testament to the transformative power of faith and education. Alhamdulillah for the guidance and support provided by iERA Uganda, which continues to make a significant impact in spreading the light of Islam.
