As the iERA duats continued spreading the message of Islam across the villages, they encountered a Protestant family preparing their garden tools, ready to leave for a day’s work in the garden. With kindness and respect, the duats greeted them warmly and requested just a few moments to share the beauty of Islam and the message of the Oneness of God.
Though initially hesitant because of their busy schedule, the couple agreed to listen.
The discussion began with the purpose of life, the worship of one God, and the teachings brought by all prophets from Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (peace be upon them all). The duats carefully explained how Islam calls people back to the pure worship of Allah alone without partners, intermediaries, or equals.
As devoted Protestants, the family had always believed that Jesus was both God and the Son of God. However, through calm and sincere dialogue, the duats explained the Islamic understanding of Jesus (peace be upon him) as a mighty prophet and messenger of Allah, born miraculously but never claiming divinity. Verse after verse and example after example touched their hearts deeply. The confusion they once carried slowly faded, replaced with clarity and understanding.

The couple admitted that what moved them most was learning that Islam follows the same path and acts of worship practiced by the prophets — submission to one God alone.
Yet one concern remained in their hearts.
They openly told the duats that they were deeply attached to pork and alcohol and feared they could never abandon those habits. The duats compassionately explained the wisdom behind Allah’s prohibitions, showing how Islam protects the body, mind, family, and society from harm. They shared how alcohol destroys lives and how Allah only forbids what is harmful for humanity.
The couple became thoughtful and emotional. After a long moment of silence, they surprised everyone with words that touched the hearts of the duats.
They said:
“To be on the safe side and protect ourselves from these vices, we feel Islam is the right path for us.”
With hearts full of conviction and tears of joy in their eyes, the husband and wife willingly declared the Shahada, testifying that there is no god worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is His Messenger.
That beautiful moment marked the beginning of a new life.
Penisha embraced her new identity and chose the name Anisha, while John chose the blessed name Yusuf.
What began as a simple request for a few minutes of conversation became a life-changing journey from confusion to certainty, from doubt to guidance, and from old habits to a new beginning in Islam.
Indeed, Allah guides whom He wills, and every sincere heart that seeks the truth will find the light.
