At 27 years old, Rebecca had spent years with her Catholic husband, and neither of them had a positive view of Islam. In fact, Rebecca had never imagined herself embracing the religion she once avoided.
One day, while her husband was away at work, iERA Da’ees visited her village as part of their outreach efforts. They stopped at her home and shared the message of Islam, explaining that it is the religion that follows the path of all the Prophets (peace be upon them). Rebecca listened attentively, but she remained unconvinced and openly stated that she could never become a Muslim.
Before leaving, the Da’ees warmly invited her to attend their classes and learn about Islam for herself. Curious to know more, Rebecca accepted the invitation and began attending the New Muslim classes.

For an entire month, she listened, learned, and reflected. Yet she remained hesitant. Then one day, she attended a lesson about the status and rights of women in Islam. The teachings touched her heart deeply and changed her perspective completely.
“I now love the Islam that I once refused to hear about,” she said.
Moved by conviction and understanding, Rebecca took her Shahadah and embraced Islam, choosing the beautiful name Madinah. Despite knowing that her husband strongly opposed Islam and showed no interest in learning about it, she courageously accepted the truth and vowed to practice her new faith.
The iERA Da’ees also made efforts to engage her husband and introduce him to Islam, but their attempts were unsuccessful. Nevertheless, Madinah remains hopeful and continues to pray that one day he too will open his heart to learn about Islam.
May Allah keep Sister Madinah steadfast upon Islam, increase her in knowledge and faith, and guide her family to the truth. Ameen.
