The Unstoppable Resilience of iERA Uganda’s Duat

When the stomach is empty, but the soul is full, miracles happen.

In the face of severe resource shortages, the Duats (propagators of faith) at iERA Uganda are proving that true dedication cannot be bought, fed, or slowed down. Despite conducting intensive classes without food, these resilient outreach specialists have exhibited an extraordinary level of competency, successfully running both public Dawah Days and essential New Muslim classes.

For these dedicated individuals, the hunger to spread the truth completely overshadows the physical hunger of the day.

The power of their sincerity was put on full display during a recent, simple Dawah Day function. With empty stomachs but passionate hearts, the iERA outreach specialists took to the streets to explain the core pillars of Islam—specifically Tawheed (the Oneness of Allah) and the undeniable truth of the faith.

Their eloquence and sincerity struck a chord. By the end of the day, over five people embraced Islam on the spot, their hearts opened by the clear, beautiful message delivered by the Duats.

The work doesn’t stop when someone accepts Islam; in fact, that is just the beginning. Even without the budget for basic meals to host their students, the Duats have shown fierce resilience. They have struggled against difficult conditions to ensure that these fresh reverts aren’t left behind.

Day after day, they call people to Islam and diligently bring them into the New Muslim classes, pouring their energy into nurturing them on the fundamental basics of the faith.

“They have indeed struggled to call people to Islam… showing that their mission is fueled by faith, not comfort.”

The sacrifice of the Duats is a humbling reminder of what true Fi Sabilillah (in the cause of Allah) looks like. They are building the future of the Ummah in East Africa—one hungry, faithful, and triumphant step at a time.
