From Resistance to Ramadan: A Journey of Transformation

When our team first visited her home, she was firm and unwavering in her beliefs. A devoted Born-Again Christian and the wife of our former NMS student, William Naguiat, she held strong reservations about Islam—so much so that she disliked it without ever truly listening to its message.

Despite this initial resistance, the door to her heart was not completely closed.

On a second visit, Brother Omar returned to her home. With patience and wisdom, he shared the message of Islam through the GORAP approach. This time, she listened. Questions were answered, misconceptions were gently addressed, and something began to shift within her.

Two months ago, she made a life-changing decision—she embraced Islam.

Today, her journey is one of passion and growth. She is deeply committed to learning her new faith, dedicating herself to memorizing verses from the Qur’an and strengthening her understanding of Islam.

This Ramadan marks a special milestone—her very first. Like many new Muslims, the experience has come with its challenges. She openly shared that she struggles with hunger and can become easily irritated when fasting. The first three days were particularly difficult. Yet, with determination and sincerity, she persevered.

Alhamdulillah, not only did she continue through Ramadan, but she also successfully graduated from our NMS during this blessed month.

Her story is a powerful reminder that guidance can come when hearts are given the chance to listen—and that even the most hesitant beginnings can lead to beautiful transformations.
