Alhamdulillah, one of the most touching moments of our dawah outreach in Guadalajara was witnessing a brother embrace Islam after a journey that began three years earlier.
As our team distributed Islamic leaflets and Qur’ans, a man stopped to speak with them. He explained that he was already familiar with Islam because he had previously received a Spanish translation of the Qur’an. He had read it carefully, learned about Salah and Zakah, and had come to appreciate the beauty of Islam’s teachings.
The brothers encouraged him, explaining that if he already believed in these foundational teachings, there was nothing preventing him from taking the next step.
With conviction and sincerity, he declared the Shahadah, testifying that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah and that Muhammad ﷺ is His Messenger.
After embracing Islam, he was introduced to the local dawah centre, where he will begin learning the essentials of his new faith, attend new Muslim classes, and become part of the Muslim community.
Then came an incredible discovery.
One of the volunteers, Sister Jackie, recognized him and remembered giving him a Spanish translation of the Qur’an three years ago. He shared that after reading it, he had even passed it on to his mother so she could also learn about Islam. Later, he obtained another copy from the dawah centre and continued his journey of learning.
When he encountered the dawah team again during the outreach campaign, everything came together. The seed that had been planted years before finally bore fruit, and he accepted Islam.
Alhamdulillah, this story is a powerful reminder that every Qur’an distributed and every sincere conversation has the potential to change a life—even if the results are seen years later. Guidance belongs to Allah alone, and sometimes a single act of dawah becomes the beginning of someone’s lifelong journey to Islam.
May Allah keep our new brother steadfast upon the truth, increase him in knowledge and faith, and reward everyone who played a part in guiding him to Islam. Ameen.
